Sealants are used to fill in narrow grooves and fissures in a tooth that cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing.

In some cases, the tooth structure has fine grooves or pits which accumulate plaque, not because the person doesn't brush, but because these grooves and pits may be too narrow to allow even one bristle of the toothbrush into them.

In time, these can develop into cavities. We can apply a coating that seals the grooves and pits, making it impossible for food particles to get into these grooves and pits. This makes it possible to remove the plaque with an ordinary toothbrush, to keep your teeth in top condition.
